Semester Two

Sorry I haven't updated since last year =( I've been quite the busybee, selling pretty smelling lotions at whatnot, haha. Anyway, I hope everyone had a great start to the new year...if not, you've got plenty of time to turn it around!


So today was the first day of second semester. Let me just say, I'm SO GLAD I passed all of my classes last semester...Cosmetics is not as easy as you'd think!! There's so much technique and skill required that you don't realize when you're sitting in that makeup chair getting your face done. Most people think it's just putting on some pretty colours...but nope, it's much more than that. You wouldn't believe how many times I'll see someone on the street, online, or at work that just looks completely BUSTED. But before I started school, I would have thought, 'Oh wow, that person's makeup is so EDGY, I wish I could get away with that look!!' Uh....yea....they just didn't apply their eyeshadow properly on the first try so they kept layering it until it got super dark. Hahaha I'm guilty of it too though (ugh, if you see my Christmas pictures you'll understand. Electric blue = no bueno).

Anywhoo, like last sem, my makeup techniques class is probably the one I'm looking forward to the most. We're doing Bridal makeup, which is perfect since my sister's wedding is coming up this June (5 months! Eeek!) and she's asked me to do my mom & other sister's makeup as well as my own. Haha I'm nervous, but we're saving money so....yea. Plus, I'm weird about other people putting makeup on me. I try to keep an open mind, but nobody knows me like I do.


I'm feeling especially random right now so I'm gonna end this post with something completely off-topic.

If you haven't already, I suggest you show your support to our Hometown Hero, Drake, and pick up So Far Gone....for some reason everything sounds better when its paid for haha........and again show your support by picking up We Are Young Money by Young Money (who else)...I've never really been a big Lil Wayne fan and to be honest I only really bought it because of Drake, but I'm actually impressed. And I don't care how many people hate on Nicki Minaj, I actually really like her.....she's a makeup artist's dream haha. So freaking colourful, I get inspired when I see her!
